Visibility toggles currently only affect your public profile link, not what matched or connected members see inside the app.
Hiding a field on your profile only removes it from your public profile link. Members you've matched or connected with inside the app can still see that field. Visibility toggles don't currently affect the in-app view.
If you turned off visibility for a field, like your phone number or company, and a connection tells you they can still see it inside the app, that's expected behavior today rather than a bug.
Right now, hiding a field only affects your public profile link. Anyone you're matched or connected with inside the app can still see that field, even with the toggle turned off. Plan around this directly. Don't rely on a visibility toggle to keep something from a specific connection.
If there's information you don't want a particular connection to see at all, the visibility toggle isn't the right tool for that today, since it only shapes what strangers see on your public link. Think about what you put in a given field in the first place if you don't want connections seeing it under any circumstance.
I hid my phone number, but a match can still see it. Is that a bug?
No. Visibility toggles currently only affect your public profile link, not what matched or connected members see inside the app.
Does hiding a field remove it from everyone?
It removes it only from your public profile link. It does not hide it from members you're matched or connected with inside the app.
Will this change in the future?
