Radar alerts are real-time notifications inside Event Mode that a strong match for you has just checked in nearby, kept intentionally general so you check your intro list rather than being told a name outright.
Once Event Mode is on, you're not just working off a static list: you'll also hear about strong matches as they check in around you, in real time.
A radar alert lets you know that a strong match for you has just arrived at the event. It doesn't spell out exactly who it is: instead, it's your cue to open the app and check who's arrived for yourself.
This is by design. Leading with a name would turn the moment into a lookup instead of a genuine 'who's here?': keeping it general builds a little anticipation and gets you checking who's arrived rather than reading it off a notification.
Think of a radar alert as a nudge, not an announcement. The details are waiting for you in the app.
Radar alerts are one part of Event Mode, alongside your unlocked introductions and We Met confirmations: all of it is meant to help you make the most of being in the room.
Why doesn't the radar alert tell me exactly who it is?
That's intentional. It's meant to prompt you to check who's arrived in the app, rather than spelling out a name before you've even looked at your intro list.

It means a strong match for you has just checked in nearby: check the app to see the details.
Do radar alerts happen throughout the whole event?
They can happen any time a strong match checks in nearby while Event Mode is active for you.
