Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account from the Danger Zone in Account settings. It can't be undone, so look carefully for the smaller link that actually deletes it.

Deleting your account is a real, permanent action. There's no undo and no recovery period, so it's worth knowing exactly what you're looking at before you do it.

  1. Go to your Account settings and find the Danger Zone section.
  2. Select 'Delete my account.'
  3. A confirmation dialog appears. Read it carefully before choosing.
  4. Confirm the deletion to permanently remove your account.

On the confirmation dialog, the large, highlighted button is actually 'Keep Account', the safe option. The real delete action is a smaller, plain-text link below it. Look for the smaller link below the main button. That's the one that actually deletes your account.

That layout is intentional, not a trick. It's there so no one deletes their account by accident. It just means you'll want to read for a second instead of clicking the first big button you see.

Frequently asked

Can I undo a deletion?

No. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be reversed.

Where do I find the delete option?

In your Account settings, under the Danger Zone section.

Why does the dialog seem to push me toward 'Keep Account'?

That's by design. It's the safe default so you don't delete your account by mistake. The actual delete option is the smaller link below it.
